Noffs is looking for a motivated Admin & Intake Officer to provide support with the day-to-day activities for the Street University, QLD. The role is predominantly based in Logan and on occasion will also perform duties in Morayfield and Southport.

The successful candidate will provide initial assessment and administration support as part of the Noffs QLD team. This role will work closely with young people aged 12-25 who are faced with serious alcohol or other drug related difficulties. This role is also the first point of contact for young people (and support services) looking to engage with the Noffs program.

The Street University is an innovative youth driven space that engages at risk young people through a range of educational, recreational, cultural and art-based programs. Street University focuses on assisting marginalised young people who do not traditionally engage with mainstream services.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Overall manage the entire intake process from assessment to entry.
  • First point of contact for all inquiries including potential clients and referrers.
  • Build rapport with clients, including gathering key (clinical and personal) information and undertake a risk assessment.
  • Provision of up to date and useful information about the organisation.
  • Telephone screening for potential clients in a respectful and caring manner.
  • Provision of referral information for those requesting other services.
  • Maintenance of a professional standard of behaviour and the confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients and their families.
  • Follow up on information (documentation, court / justice health reports) pertaining to client's assessments; to assist with suitability process for admission to program.
  • Assist the Management Team with general administration duties including but not limited to: petty cash, record keeping, collations of statistics, timesheet, rosters.
  • Assist with the internal team meetings and communication including: meeting minutes, general emails, organising team meetings.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated capacity to provide administrative duties.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to work with young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years old.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to multi-task with attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent telephone and inter-personal manner.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Commitment to the principles of harm minimisation and to the aims of the Ted Noffs Foundation.
  • Must have a current and valid Queensland Blue Card.
  • Current Driver's Licence and a good driving record.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in the drug and alcohol sector.
  • Relevant experience in conducting assessments.
