About The Tutor Network

The Tutor Network is a new not-for-profit initiative to help schools and students catch up their learning from COVID-19 disruptions. Supported by Teach For Australia, The Tutor Network’s mission is to offer high quality, school-based tutoring intervention to close the learning gap, especially for students from disadvantaged communities.

About the Position

The Tutor Network is seeking casual tutors for 6-12 hours per week over a 6 week program, from Monday 26 October to Friday 4 December.

We are looking for educators-in-training with a great academic record, experience in teaching and a real commitment to help Victoria’s students thrive. Working remotely with students in small groups (on a 3:1 ratio), three times a week over six weeks, tutors will focus on students’ social emotional wellbeing, motivation to learn, and catch up their content in literacy or numeracy.

To be eligible, you must:

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor (3rd or 4th year) or a Masters degree in Teaching Education; be a qualified teacher or teacher’s aide; or be a professional tutor.
• Have a valid Working With Children Check.
• Complete a Police Check.
• Be committed to making a tangible positive impact on students, teachers and schools.
• Be able to attend two paid days of training on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th October 2020
