Tweddle Child & Family Health Service (Tweddle) is located in Footscray and offers a range of specialist early parenting programs to families who are experiencing difficulties with parenting their children up to school age. Programs include residential, day stay programs and sessional groups delivered at Tweddle or in local communities, collaboratively with local government, community organisations or health services.

Tweddle facilitates six MyTime groups in the West. MyTime is a national program and groups are for parents and family carers of children aged under 18 years who need a higher level of care than other children. This may be due to disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition.

Tweddle Child & Family Health Service’s MyTime program is currently seeking a Facilitator 7 hours per week, 9-12.30pm at Point Cook on a Wednesday and 9-12.30pm on a Friday in Newport commencing in June 2020. Due to the current environment Tweddle are facilitating online MyTime groups and will resume face to face groups when it is safe to do so.

The role requires attendance on site for 8 weeks of each school term, with flexibility of supporting other groups and attendance at staff meetings.

It is expected that candidates are familiar with the program and have community service and or clinical experience to support the groups by:

  • Facilitating peer support to parents, carers in a group environment
  • Connecting families who have children with additional needs to local community support andresources
  • Developing strong respected relationships with disability services in north western and westernregions of Victoria
  • Deliver effective group outcomes

Experience in facilitating groups, working in the disability field is preferred. Competent computer skills required.

The MyTime program is funded by the Australian Government Department of families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. MyTime is coordinated nationally by the Parenting Research Centre.
