For over 30 years The Post Adoption Resource Centre (PARC) has supported people across NSW, whose lives have been affected by adoption.

The PARC Service support clients affected by adoption though counselling (face to face, phone or virtually), search and intermediary services, therapeutic groups, adoptions connections groups, resource development and education for professionals.

About this role

As PARC Team Leader, you will ensure client services are delivered in an effective, culturally appropriate and sustainable way which maximises outcomes for clients and complies with organisational values and policies.

Leading a dedicated team of Counsellors, with relevant tertiary qualifications, you will provide clear, fair and supportive leadership, professional supervision, practice support and learning opportunities. You will work collaboratively with community partners and other stakeholders to facilitate referrals, identify needs, conduct research, advocate and raise awareness to improve outcomes for the post adoption community. You will have a good understanding of funding agreements and can fulfil reporting requirements.

Terms: Ongoing part-time role (32 hours) based at Hurstville.

What you need to succeed?

You will have experience leading a team in the Community Services sector and:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology or related discipline
  • People leadership experience with the ability to maintain an engaged, high performing team
  • Strong understanding of trauma, loss and grief, mental health, and issues specific to adoption including intermediary services, reunion, adoption legislation and the impact of past practices.
  • Experience delivering trauma informed evidence-based programs and therapeutic services using a family systems approach
  • Good management skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution
  • High level written and verbal communication skills for a range of audiences.
  • Great people skills and capacity to engage with people from all walks of life
