The Benevolent Society are expanding their Child and Family services to South Australia and offer a unique opportunity to make a difference through the Resilient Families Program. Resilient Families is a therapeutic, evidence informed program designed to provide 12-month, intensive, in-home support to families with at least one child aged 9 years and under. This is an innovative funding model developed in partnership with the South Australian Government. The Benevolent Society is the first organisation to deliver this program in South Australia.

Your new role:

As a Senior Social Worker/Case Worker, you will provide intensive support to families enabling children to live safely at home where there are significant complex vulnerabilities. You will provide intensive case management including in-home practical and therapeutic support from an evidence informed, Resilience led approach. You will improve children’s well-being by strengthening family functioning and relationships.

Terms: We have a number of permanent positions available with full time and part time hours considered.

About you:

You will have a degree qualification, at least 3 years work experience in the Child Protection system and:

  • Ability to actively engage high needs families using client-centred, strengths based approaches
  • Understanding of current evidence based practice and intervention approaches for families and children
  • An interest and/or experience in male inclusive practice
  • Ability to work autonomously with families where various psycho-social issues are present
  • High level written and verbal communication
  • Excellent relationship building skills and experience working with the local Aboriginal communities
  • Comfortable working in Evidence Informed Practice with a outcomes focus
  • Current drivers license (pool cars are available so you don’t need to use your own vehicle)
