Join an experienced and collaborative People & Culture team in this engaging generalist role. As an accomplished HR professional, you will partner with senior leaders and teams to deliver strategic and operational workforce outcomes. As a trusted business partner, you will extend your knowledge and skill in employee engagement, industrial relations, coaching and developing managers and providing expert advice and guidance across a broad range of people-related issues, as well as leading organisation-wide HR initiatives. This role, which is part of a multi-disciplinary People & Culture team, is based in South-East Queensland and reports to the Director, Human Resources based in Sydney, with a "dotted line" to the Director, Operations based in Brisbane.

About the role:

Our Senior People & Culture Business Partners are experienced HR practitioners who truly partner with our Operations Directors and Service Managers. Day to day, you will support Queensland-based managers and teams to do their best work for clients across Child, Youth and Family Services including Disability Services. The People & Culture Business Partner is highly-valued by operational management who seek a high-trust partnership delivering expert advice, empowering conversations, coaching, development, and insightful interventions to maximise employee engagement. You bring practical solutions to complex issues, knowing that one size doesn't fit all. You demonstrate respect and curiosity to understand, learn, challenge the status quo and influence where needed. You collaborate effectively both within the People & Culture team and cross-functionally. We thrive on flexibility in our work practices to enable effective collaborative broad geographical areas in multiple states. We maintain day to day connection points to maintain a sense of purpose, belonging and cohesion.

What you need to succeed?

To be successful in this role you will have breadth and depth of experience across the employee life cycle, with a particular focus on supporting great team performance. You'll need to demonstrate:

  • Successful business partnering capability within a medium to large 'human services' organisation (experience in Child & Family Services, Disability or Ageing sectors will be highly regarded)
  • Understanding of employment legislation, industrial agreements and contemporary HR practice
  • Ability to look beyond compliance oriented HR to develop innovative, effective solutions to meet stakeholder needs and address strategic opportunities
  • Ability to multi-task across many concurrent issues and projects, delivering impactful outcomes in a changing environment
