The Benevolent Society are expanding their Child and Family services to South Australia and offer a unique opportunity to make a difference through the Resilient Families Program. Resilient Families is a therapeutic, evidence informed program designed to provide 12-month, intensive, in-home support to families with at least one child aged 9 years and under. This is an innovative funding model developed in partnership with the South Australian Government. The Benevolent Society is the first organisation to deliver this program in South Australia.
As part of our Resilient Families team, you will be integral in helping us build genuine and trusted partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, elders and community. You will provide guidance around and assist our team in providing culturally appropriate and safe environments and help to build our cultural competence.Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will to engage and support Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander families make different choices for their children.
You will undertake an assessment of family strengths, needs and desired outcomes, create a case plan and link them with appropriate networks. You will honor, respect and incorporate children and families culture in all aspects of practice and service delivery. You will develop and manage relationships with the local community and other stakeholders to improve outcomes for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander families.
Terms: Permanent part time role (0.4 FTE) available at Melrose Park, Adelaide This role may be considered on a full time basis as a dual role Cultural Engagement Coordinator / Child & Family Practitioner (additional requirements apply)
