Our Early Years Centres are community hubs offering child health services, family support and early childhood education whilst focusing on early intervention and prevention to ultimately empower children and families. Our team recognise the importance of the child/parent relationship, with a focus on empowering children and support of families to live their best lives.

Your new role

As our Child Development Specialist, you will support children and families to achieve their own goals and milestones. You will develop and facilitate child-centred, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate programs that meet the needs, interests and strengths of children (0-8) and families (facilitating our play programs, specialist groups and parenting programs.)

You will work alongside as part of a multidisciplinary team other professionals like Social Workers, Child Health Nurses, Speech Pathologist and Child Psychologist who are all on your team. You will work collaboratively with them to undertake assessments, identify strengths, increase capacity for resilience and promote positive family relationships and child development.

Terms: This role is a part time role 4 days per week based in Browns Plains, QLD.

What you need to succeed?

As an experienced Child Development Specialist, you will have a:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar Child Development related discipline/s

  • A commitment to play based approaches with a focus on building parent-child relationships to improve the long-term outcomes for children
  • Understanding of child protection issues and the impact of trauma on child behaviour and development
  • Great people skills and the ability to create strong working relationships with people from all walks of life
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Commitment to lead your own intentional reflection to continually build practice and outcomes
