Our Government client is looking for someone to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families in multiple metro and rural locations across Victoria.

THE ROLE:

• Receive and Assess reports of Alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people
• Develop necessary plans to ensure safety, stability and development of children and young people - including taking matter to court
• Co-ordinate and lead case planning review and case management
• Provide advice and consultation to people who report concerns about children and young people
• Assess children and families where it is believed a child is at risk of significant harm
• Understand and apply culturally informed practise that is focused on the child in the context of their family
• Leads children, families, and stakeholders through child protection assessment and decision making in an open, informed, proactive, and assertive manner
• Effectively use business technology, systems, procedures, and financial & political nous to achieve best outcome(s) for clients

THE REQUIREMENT:

• Recognised Social Work degree or similar welfare or behavioural related degree or recognised Diploma of Community Services Work
• Valid Driver's License
• Current Working with Children Check
• 2 years + experience in child protection, development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma
• Able to work confidently with families impacted by drug and alcohol abuse, family violence, Aboriginal children and families, etc.
• Understanding of the Child, Youth and Families Act (2005) practise, including core responsibilities and principles of the Act
