Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) is the voice of the Taungurung people – a people with a strong sense of shared identity, self-determining in the management of Country and culture. The Finance Manager will have responsibility for day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
Key Duties include;
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting, procedures, policies and compliance frameworks
- Work closely with TLaWC’s Finance Officer
- Oversee payroll and accounts functions
- Tax advice & administration (including BAS assistance)
- Complete month end processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Preparation of quarterly reporting for the Board and Daada Gurnap Nhilam (Risk and Audit Committee)
- Work with TLaWC staff to prepare and monitor program and project budgets
- Preparation of annual organisational budget and monthly forecasting
- Coordinate preparation for and completion of external audits
- Preparation of annual statutory financial reports for multiple entities under differing reporting frameworks
- ·Support fundraising and grant-related financial activities as required, including assistance with budget scoping and preparation
- Oversee grants and funding administration, including assistance with budget management and acquittals
- Support compliance reporting activities across various functions
- Provide reports, analysis, and advice to various TLaWC staff on organisational financial matters
- Prepare financial feasibility analysis for scenarios and opportunities
- Implement and enforce systems of internal control in consultation with the CFO, Daada Gurnap Nhilam and others
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment for all staff
- Other duties as assigned
To work with TLaWC, applicants must have
- An understanding of the importance of Country to Traditional Custodians and the recognition of Taungurung as Traditional Custodians
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Traditional Custodians
- A commitment to self-determination,
