The Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance (the Alliance) is lutruwita / Tasmania’s new peak body for victim-survivors and family and sexual violence services. Its primary purpose is to provide a coordinated and strategic response to family violence, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse within the state. The Alliance aims to transform the culture and systems that perpetuate gender inequality and violence, striving to create a place where all people experience safety, dignity, and agency.

Summary

Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance (TFSVA) is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who are passionate about ending family and sexual violence in Tasmania and committed to contributing their leadership, skills and experience to our Transitional Board.

To ensure greater representation across the sector and diverse perspectives, the Transitional Board is particularly seeking representatives from the following areas:

  • Lived experience of family and/or sexual violence
  • Tasmanian Aboriginal people
  • Specialist/non-specialist services that include a focus on primary prevention within the FSV sector

The Transitional board is additionally welcoming of the following skills and expertise, although not essential:

  • Governance
  • Finance
  • Peak body management/or oversight
  • Compliance

The Transitional Board plays a key role in the establishment of TFSVA’s governance, strategic direction, and oversight as we work toward building our membership base and establishing peak body functions. Board member commitment is a minimum of 12 months, with meetings held monthly.
