Due to a maternity leave, TCAC has a 12-month opportunity for an experienced Early Childcare Education (ECE) professional to lead an exciting initiative to deliver ECE to children on Town Camps in Alice Springs.

Access to Education (A2E) is an innovative and unique program that supports Aboriginal children and youth to achieve positive outcomes in education, safety and wellbeing in the Alice Springs Greater Region.

The Early Childhood Education Coordinator will lead a small, dynamic team to strengthen the role of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in ensuring that Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years old who reside in Town camps receive a positive start to their education journey. The Coordinator will also monitor and evaluate the program with the aim of achieving continuous improvement in its outcomes for families.

The position works alongside community to help frame and implement strategies and playgroups to support Aboriginal families and children in Town Camp communities to feel safe and connected to Early Childhood Education and understand the importance of Early childhood development. The co-ordinator also provides staff support and a link to the ECE team at the Larapinta Valley Child Family Centre (CFC) and other Early Childhood services in Alice Springs, to ensure highly integrated practice and increased parental participation in the crucial area of school readiness.
