What our new Corporate Services Manager looks like

The Corporate Service Manager manages all matters related to finance, accounting, IT and Human Resources. The position will provide leadership to and is supported by bookkeeping, human resources, and project staff, as well as consultants. They will work collaboratively with our leadership team, consisting of our Program Manager, Development Manager and CEO, and will provide support to the finance committee and the Advocare Board.

A typical day in the role may look like……

  • Managing our financials, including reconciliation of sales/payments, overseeing payroll and tax obligations.
  • Contributing to positive team culture by participating in and leading team meetings, planning and development/process improvement discussions, supervision and review activities
  • Providing high level financial and non-financial advice on a broad range of corporate services matters, including business cases, analysis and recommendations.
  • Managing monthly and end of financial year financial reporting requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Reporting - including budgeting and forecasting, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting, full financial statements, monthly Board reports, and preparation of the Association’s annual and statutory reports.
  • Troubleshooting the the day to day IT needs and maintaining positive relationships with our external IT provider.
  • Project managing and supporting key projects related to corporate services.
  • Ensuring compliance and overseeing all human resources related activities, including employment contracts, tax related compliance obligations, staff training, performance management, leave entitlements, workers compensation, occupational health and safety and grievance matters.

It's great you are still reading – that means you resonate with the above! We are searching for someone who can meet most of the following:

  • Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, MBA, CPA or similar and/or significant experience in similar financial management, including reconciliation of sales/payments, accounts receivable, overseeing of all payroll including Superannuation and tax obligations (PAYG, BAS)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage organisational assets.
  • Significant experience conducting annual audits
  • High-level financial acumen working within budgetary requirements and managing month and year end financial reporting.
  • Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret and comprehend financial and non-financial data.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills to effectively manage all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve issues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Strong report writing skills.

We would also look favourably on your experience in a small to medium not-for-profit environment, and with the SCHADS award, but this is not essential.

This is a full-time position, and you will base yourself from our Victoria Park office, with the option to work from home 2 days per week – depending on what’s in store for that day!
