About Take Two

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. We work with the traumatised child, and with their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

This role is suited to a Clinician or Senior Clinician.

Take Two has many programs providing individual, dyadic and systemic client facing services.

This role includes:

• Provision of high-quality assessment and advice relating to the care of Child Protection clients referred to the Take Two program.
• Provision of counselling and therapeutic interventions for children, young people and their families.
• Work closely and collaboratively with the client, their families and the care team to achieve therapeutic goals and outcomes.
• Provide secondary consultation and support to DHHS and Community Service Organisations via Care Team for the clients.
• Contribute to the research and training components of the Take Two program.

The Senior Clinician will in addition to the above:

• Have a leadership role in the team and supervise clinicians in the team.
• Hold complex cases.

About You

We are seeking a qualified Clinician/Senior Clinician who has relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline. You will have a sound understanding of the complexities of the service system, a demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families, and a sound understanding and demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.
