About Take Two

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. We work with the traumatised child, and with their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Practice Development Consultant to provide training and practice development activities to staff at Take Two and organisations external to Berry Street. The Take Two Practice Development Team aims to improve the sector’s capacity to work effectively with infants, children and young people impacted by trauma and neglect. This includes the development of training materials based on the assessment of clinicians’ needs and feedback from the child and youth welfare sector.

This exciting and diverse role will include the provision of training across various clinical intervention models, formulation and assessment, psycho-education and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) developed by Dr Bruce Perry at the ChildTrauma Academy.

About You

The successful candidate will bring their clinical knowledge and practice wisdom to inform Take Two’s training and practice development work both with Take Two staff and external agencies. Ideally we are seeking applicants with extensive practice experience working in the child welfare sector and/or experience working in a training or practice development role. An understanding of adult learning principles is an advantage.

The Benefits

  • Additional salary packaging available for meals/accommodation.
  • Flexible work arrangements and generous leave conditions.
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including access for staff members’ immediate family.
