Over the past 35 years, Synapse—Australia’s Brain Injury Organisation, has grown to employ around 120 people. We provide a range of services, including information and referral, specialist supports, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, advocacy, housing and targeted research activities. Synapse promotes quality of life, self-determination and choice. Our mission is to ensure the rights of people impacted by brain injury, by connecting knowledge, policy, services and systems.

About the Role

The State Lead - W.A. role encompasses both strategic and operational responsibilities, and will have overall responsibility for leading Synapse’s engagement within a W.A. context, including contribution to national initiatives. Over the long term, the primary purpose of the role will be to establish and drive engagement with partners to secure business growth across W.A.

The NDIS is currently being implemented nationally, creating a remarkable opportunity for this role to be at the forefront of change for people impacted by brain injury, as a part of the Synapse team.

The role will be responsible for:

  • leading the business development and stakeholder management of corporate, philanthropic, community and government partnerships to support Synapse’s recent establishment and presence in W.A.;
  • delivering on strategic and operational objectives, including achieving partnership income targets;
  • establishing new partnerships through both traditional and innovative agreements which meet the needs of all stakeholders; and
  • overseeing and having responsibility for all business secured in W.A. and respective resourcing, including the immediate establishment of Synapse as an NDIS provider in W.A.

You possess a strong work ethic and are experienced in leading the design and delivery of products within the community services sector.

You couple your warm, friendly and engaging manner with a strong sense of professionalism. A self-starter, with an ability to work autonomously, you are disciplined enthusiastic and possess a “whatever it takes” attitude.
