About the Role

Synapse is currently seeking an experienced Housing and Support Manager. This rewarding and varied role will be responsible for operational oversight of housing related services to ensure capacity and capability is maximised to best respond to client needs.. Based in our head office in West End, this role will oversee our housing and support team located in a number of properties across Northern Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

You will provide leadership and coaching to the workforce and will strategically develop and manage the service in line with continuous improvement principles, best practice in disability housing and support, and a commitment to quality.

We are currently undergoing a period of growth as we expand across Australia, and this role is a crucial one for our team. You will have influence in this role and will enjoy working with your team and the broader business to contribute to decision making and problem solving.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Day to day management of Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding including quoting and implementation processes
  • Provide expert advice on housing and support matters including but not limited to support services, housing options, professional and/or administrative.
  • Develop and lead a high performing team through setting expectations and establishing a results-oriented culture
  • Lead and mentor decision making by staff who are managing teams within specified policies and practice standards
  • Lead service development to enhance opportunities for individuals to achieve their full potential and work actively with community groups or other interest groups as required
  • Make strategic decisions across a large client group within the scope of established policies and practice standards
  • Identify required interventions to ensure service quality is maintained and enhanced

About You

You are ideal for this role if you have:

  • Degree in Human Services or similar qualification and/or five (5) years with significant experience in Disability Services.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing service budgets, government grants and service agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the complexities and requirements of a geographically dispersed and diverse team
  • High level of communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as organisational ability, problem solving, attention to detail and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS operating models including Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • A satisfactory Yellow Card (or ability to obtain one) and current driver’s licence are essential.
