Director & Director / Treasurer

Helen Macpherson Smith Trust

WATCH Disability Services is a not-for-profit community organisation, providing flexible, innovative and indiviualised supports for adults with a disability. WATCH is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider and operates from two premises in Mulgrave and Springvale.

In 1987, we commenced with 15 clients and we now have 66 clients of varying intellectual disabilities. None of our clients fit into the “employable” category, and only one attends Waverley Workshop one day a week. For more information on the organisation, please click here.

As an experienced Board member, you will bring knowledge of corporate governance in the not-for-profit area, commercial acumen and financial leadership. You will have a deep empathy for the needs of our very special clients, and the ability to help the Board and the staff provide those services sustainably into the future. Expertise from aligned businesses or industries including caring services, infrastructure or asset-based industries is highly desirable. The appointment as Treasurer would be after a period of orientation, allowing the current Treasurer to bed down changes required by the NDIS transition. This would be expected to be around 12 months.

For further information and to receive a copy of the full position description, please contact Andrew Bonwick, Partner at Fish & Nankivell on 0417 549 168, or email [email protected]. We highly recommend a confidential telephone conversation with Andrew prior to submitting an application.

We recognise it is a challenging time for many, and we are adapting to create a flexible approach to our search process. Like many small businesses, the Fish & Nankivell team is now working remotely and we will endeavour to continue to provide a seamless service.
