Carers Victoria is recognised and funded as a social purpose peak body and a service provider, supporting and empowering all unpaid carers across Victoria. This unique status gives Carers Victoria knowledge and deep insights into the current and emerging issues in the care sector, and they work with government, other peak bodies, and service providers to address these challenges, championing the role and rights of unpaid carers. With a budget of approximately $10 million, Carers Victoria is an ambitious and action orientated organisation with an exciting vision for the future.

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide Carers Victoria with effective and visionary leadership. Fostering a positive, empowering and productive culture, you will inspire a passionate and committed team (76 FTE) to drive performance in every aspect of operations and service delivery. You will provide strategic advice on operational and policy matters to the Board, continuing to strengthen relationships with all stakeholders, develop innovative, effective and fiscally responsible business plans and build the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation. As the key spokesperson for Carers Victoria, you will advocate on behalf of carers and their families, providing evidenced-based policy and advocacy with an aim of continually improving the lives of carers.

An outstanding leader, ideally an experienced CEO, you will have a demonstrated ability to utilise high level advocacy and bring an entrepreneurial, innovative approach to service development. With excellent financial and commercial skills, you will be highly organised and able to manage numerous projects whilst guiding and steering the business to deliver its strategic priorities. Politically astute with exceptional communication skills, you will build and maintain a diverse network of stakeholders increasing Carers Victoria’s profile and supporter base, including government, corporate and community organisations. A strong values alignment and commitment to social justice is essential.
