This newly created role is an outstanding opportunity to join the Youth Collective Impact Team (YCIT) and provide administrative support to allow the team to delivery of engaging and impactful programs to inspire, develop and empower young people to achieve their potential.

The YCIT creates and delivers projects to inspire, develop and empower young people to achieve their potential. The YCIT is a small but impactful team, we have an encouraging team culture that is focussed on ensuring that all background/administrative preparation involving a broad range of skillsets and stakeholders will result in delivering a wide range of successful events, workshops and programs involving 25 to 2,000 participants

ABOUT YOU:

You are a highly organised, efficient, responsive, proactive professional with strong administration and customer service skills gained in an office/projects/events environment looking to join a community organisation that helps local young people to discover better pathways.

You have a genuine interest and commitment to the SWC values in improving the social, physical and mental well-being of young people and relevant support training and development will be provided to help you achieve this.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to enable the YCIT to successfully deliver SWC events, programs and projects for young people and their families to inspire, develop and empower young people to achieve their potential.

In this position you will work in harmony with experienced team members to ensure that SWC delivers initiatives that encourage young people’s active participation in education, careers and civic life and promote their health and wellbeing.

As a valued member of our team, your contribution is crucial in helping us to achieve these outcomes.

Experience and understanding of working with young people and community stakeholders would be an advantage, however, a positive attitude to develop, contribute and succeed are essential.

Skills that will be regarded are:

  • A demonstrated understanding and experience in Administration and Customer Service
  • A genuine interest and commitment to the SWC values in improving the social, physical and mental well-being of young people is preferred (Relevant support training and development will be provided to the successful applicant)
  • Competency and accuracy in computer/technology skills – SWC utilises Microsoft Office 365 (mail merge, spreadsheets, databases), Sharepoint, Teams, MailChimp, Zoom, Canva, Adobe etc

Key skills:

  • Ensure admin/event support tasks are completed to a high standard within the required timeframe
  • Have high standard administrative, communication and numeracy skills (written and verbal)
  • A strong focus on customer service, and a professional manner and presentation
  • Take a proactive, team and solution approach to completing your tasks and achieving the goals of SWC
  • Ability to manage time effectively and assist several staff members across SWC (prioritise workload)
  • Ability to problem solve and finalise issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work methodically, accurately, and autonomously
  • Regular review of accuracy and relevance of the SWC website and social media posts and marketing material - assist with updates as required
  • Office and kitchen maintenance - supplies, basic cleaning/tidying equipment and Nespresso Machine clean and descaling as required
  • Physically fit and active to be able to assist at events (includes bump in and out)
  • Friendly and flexible nature, willing to learn new skills (You will be the type of individual who takes great pride in their work and who believes no task is too big or too small)

This is an ideal role if you have recently completed a qualification in administration, social media engagement or events/project management or if you have worked in part time roles with transferable skills.

You will be guided and mentored by the Senior Projects Coordinator and managed by the Head of Strategic Development.

Additional Information / Requirements

  • This full time position is based at Bossley Park Community Centre. A requirement of this role is to travel to various locations including businesses and schools in the Fairfield and Liverpool LGA’s. Therefore, you must have daily access to an insured vehicle (kilometre allowance payable)
  • This role is 37.5 hour per week, 4 weeks Annual Leave per annum to be taken during the Christmas and New Year period
  • To be eligible for this role, you must have the right to live and work in Australia, complete a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check along with a current Drivers Licence.
  • This role at SWC involves working on projects delivered on site at Aged Care Facilities. To protect their aged residents, they require all visitors to show proof of immunisation before entering their Aged Care Facility. SWC also interacts with thousands of students and teachers at Expos, Summits, workshops and excursions.
  • To safely perform your role, you are required to have and provide proof of taking the Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines.
