About the Role

Applications are invited for an advanced psychiatry registrar with a specific interest in psychotherapy.

This is an accredited training position funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health under the Specialist Training Program. The Registrar's clinical work takes place both in public settings within St Vincent's Mental Health Service and in the private sector, including the Melbourne Clinic.

The registrar will be expected to deliver psychodynamic psychotherapy in each of the settings. It is anticipated that there will be opportunities for individual, family and group psychotherapy. The registrar is encouraged to attend to formal educational opportunities on courses related to the development of specialist skills in the area of psychotherapy.

Expert supervision will be provided for each of the psychotherapeutic treatment modalities the registrar is engaged in.

There is an expectation that the successful applicant contribute to the on-call roster at St Vincent's Mental Health.
