About the Positions

St Vincent's Mental Health is recruiting for the 2021 Medical Year.

We have 23 equivalent full-time positions available for Psychiatry Registrars with limited opportunities for flexible employment (job share or part time employment).

Training positions available include: general adult inpatient and community psychiatry, research, consultation-liaison psychiatry, psycho-oncology, psychogeriatrics, dual diagnosis, perinatal psychiatry, psychiatry of trauma, forensic psychiatry and psychiatry in the private setting. There is an extensive academic and educational program available at St Vincent's Mental Health.

St Vincent's has a particular commitment to providing a comprehensive training program which includes quality experience in psychotherapy (supported by our Head of Psychotherapy Training), access to research opportunities, and an active examination preparation program. All positions are accredited for training with the RANZCP covering all stages of training. Applications of suitable experienced and qualified prevocational medical officers with an interest in psychiatry training may also be considered.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated experience applying medical knowledge towards sound clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients
  • Demonstrated effective communication with patients, relatives, staff and colleagues
  • Knowledge and ongoing adherence to hospital safety policies
  • PGY2+
  • Compliance with credentialing requirements through providing necessary documentation when application is progressed - to be discussed before proceeding to formal interview e.g. police check
