About the Role

Applications are invited for two prevocational registrar positions at St Vincent's Mental Health.

These positions provide cover to our night registrar roster and, as such, registrars get to experience different parts of our service.

These are full-time positions but are not accredited by the VPTC. They are suitable for candidates who have had at least six months of previous experience in psychiatry who are looking to experience psychiatric practice in a wide range of settings prior to committing to the training program.

Experiences available include: general adult inpatient and community psychiatry, consultation-liaison, psycho-oncology, psychogeriatrics, dual diagnosis, perinatal psychiatry and psychiatry of trauma. For further information please refer to the SVMH Psychiatry Training Program attachment.

There is an extensive academic and educational program available at St Vincent's Mental Health. St Vincent's has a particular commitment to providing a comprehensive training program which includes quality experience in psychotherapy (supported by our Head of Psychotherapy Training), access to research opportunities, and an active examination preparation program. Cover registrars are supported by individual supervision provided by RANZCP accredited supervisors.
