About Department

St Vincent's Residential Aged Mental Health Service comprises of Riverside House in Richmond and Auburn House in Hawthorn. These sites are Aged Persons Mental Health residential facilities caring for people with challenging behavioural and psychological needs who are provided high quality care by a skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a Lifestyle Assistant to join the team at Riverside House/Auburn House on a permanent part time basis. As a Lifestyle Assistant you will be responsible for the delivery of resident activities as designated in the lifestyle program to enhance the psychological, spiritual and emotional well-being of the residents, within a safe and comfortable environment.

Classification for this position is YC89 ($66,700 per annum).

Duties

  • Facilitate and innovative group and individualised resident programs
  • Liaise with resident's family members and/or carers and other SVHM services as required
  • Actively participate in regular program evaluation and development meetings
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activities including progress entries

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle/Leisure
  • Previous experience in an aged-care setting or similar environment
  • Previous experience in developing, tailoring and implementing life enhancing programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with residents and staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
