About Department

The Podiatry department provides podiatry services to patients across multiple sites, including St Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy; St George's Hospital; Caritas Christi Hospice; residential facilities; and correctional health facilities.

The Grade 3 Podiatrist is based at the Fitzroy campus of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) however will require service provision to St George's hospital.

About the Role

The Grade 3 Podiatrist is responsible for the development and delivery of high quality podiatry care.

The role involves servicing inpatients and outpatients, including coordination of the multi-disciplinary High Risk Foot Clinic. The role is responsible for supervision of podiatry staff, coordination of undergraduate students and taking a leadership role within the department. The Grade 3 Podiatrist is expected to be a clinical expert, particularly in the specialised area of the High Risk Foot. The role is accountable to the Podiatry Manager.

Classifications for this position will range from CV9 - CV12 ($93, 800 - $107, 200 per annum).

Duties including but not limited to:

  • Provide the highest standard of podiatry services to patients through effective assessment, treatment, evaluation, team liaison and discharge planning
  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary high risk foot clinic and facilitate case conferences
  • Ensure that podiatry services provided are based on the latest available evidence
  • Provide consultation and expert advice for staff regarding podiatric management of patients
  • Communicate assessment and management outcomes to medical, nursing, and other allied health staff via documentation, ward rounds, case conferences and meetings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Podiatry
  • Current registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia
  • Advantageous to have Acute Tertiary High Risk Foot Service Experience
