The role

Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, the HR Business Partner provides contemporary, solutions-focused HR support to leaders across the organisation. The role partners closely with stakeholders to build capability and performance, while leading HR and payroll operations and contributing to people initiatives that strengthen culture, governance and compliance.

This is a fast-paced and multifaceted role requiring strong prioritisation, resilience and sound judgement across competing HR, payroll and employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities (overview)

  • Partner with leaders to deliver practical HR advice and solutions across the employee lifecycle
  • Lead and coach a small HR operations team and oversee HR and payroll service delivery
  • Maintain oversight of payroll governance to ensure accurate, timely and compliant outcomes
  • Support and manage employee relations matters including performance, conduct, investigations and conflict resolution
  • Contribute to workforce reporting, continuous improvement and people initiatives that support organisational outcomes

About you

You’re a credible and collaborative HR professional with strong ER/IR capability and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You communicate with influence and empathy, and are confident coaching leaders through complex and sensitive people matters in a busy, multifaceted environment.

You can work autonomously while partnering closely with stakeholders to implement contemporary, evidence-based people strategies that attract, develop and retain talent and build a strong performance culture. You demonstrate resilience, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant outcomes.

You have a strong personal alignment to the purpose and values of Vinnies.

Requirements

  • Current working rights in Australia
  • Willingness to undergo a police record check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
