The Role:

VincentCare has a new opportunity for a positive, motivated, energetic, professional Key Worker who is committed to making a difference in the housing and homelessness sector.

The Assisted Care and Housing is a CHSP funded program that will use a strength-based approach to support older people who are living in insecure housing, homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The Key Worker will be responsible for the ongoing development of the program in northern Metro and will link clients to the most appropriate range of housing services in order to meet their immediate and ongoing needs.

Seniors Living comprises of a Wellbeing centre, Home Care Packages, ACH and Community Support Workers to assist and support older people to remain living in their own homes and the community for as long as possible.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, skills and demonstrated minimum 3 years’ experience in Housing services, Community services, Health services, Aged Care or relevant fields.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in dealing with the private, community and public housing providers.
  • An understanding of the wellbeing and care issues for older people.
  • Confidence working within the Aged Care Standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of advocating on behalf of clients and negotiating with housing providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond professionally and effectively to competing priorities, use initiative and work independently.
  • Demonstrated  cultural competence and commitment to work respectfully with indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse people, including clients and staff.
  • Experience using client record management data bases (Single Client Record preferred).
  • Current Victorian Drivers licence.
  • Reliable car.
