Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.

The Young Children Thriving (YCT) team seeks to support children and their families who are experiencing a range of vulnerabilities. The program’s focus is on working towards proactive and responsive child and family systems that deliver strong prevention and early support.

SVA and our partners have embarked on a series of ambitious high impact systems change initiatives involving convening and mobilising sector stakeholders, building evidence, incubating innovative service delivery approaches, and advocating for change.

The Position

The Program and Communications Officer Early Childhood, provides efficient and professional program and administrative support on all aspects of the Young Children Thriving initiatives to ensure their successful delivery. The position enhances team effectiveness by providing key information and focused program support to the Director, Early Childhood, and program team. This includes coordination within the team and across SVA, including Marketing and Communications, Fundraising and Partnerships, and Policy and Advocacy as required. A key component of the role involves preparing a broad range of written material and collateral for external and internal audiences and working collaboratively to implement strategies for its promotion, release, and publication.

Who you are

Are you immersed in one or more of the key early childhood development domain areas (e.g., health, education, family support, child protection) and degree qualified in a relevant field? Do you have excellent writing skills and the ability to communication with wide and diverse audiences? Do you thrive when working independently, managing multiple projects and/or events, finding ways to make the best use of limited resources and collaborating with a team?
