• Fixed term Contract to 30 June 2021 – 37.5 hours per week

Sussex Street Community Law Service is a not for profit community based legal centre providing legal advice, advocacy and financial counselling to a wide range of disadvantaged clients.

About the Role

We are one of several community service organisations who deliver financial counselling services in the metropolitan area through the Financial Counselling Network. This position is based in Canning Vale and provides advice, assistance and education for people experiencing financial hardship.

The position is to 30 June 2021.

About You

Applicants with the following skills or experience are strongly encouraged to apply

• Hold, or are working toward, a Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling); or
• Have a minimum 5 years’ experience in banking or financial services and agree to enrol and work toward a Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling).

Assistance to undertake the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) may be considered for the right applicant.

You will have experience working with people experiencing financial vulnerability or hardship You will have well developed advocacy and negotiation skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and in a small team environment.
