Senior Social Worker

Support Act

Support Act is the Australian Music Industry’s charity. We provide crisis relief to artists, crew and music workers across all genres who are unable to work due to illness, injury, a mental health issue or some other crisis, including the impact of COVID-19 on live music.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic increase in the number of applications to Support Act for crisis relief. This has resulted in additional casual social workers being employed to manage the caseload; the development of more comprehensive policies and procedures; and a stronger need for management oversight.

The Senior Social Worker role has been created to increase the effectiveness and impact of our crisis relief programs and to provide support to the National Welfare Coordinator.

We are seeking a qualified social worker with relevant clinical experience who is committed to delivering a high-quality service to artists and music workers in crisis. Empathy, resilience and the highest standards of professional integrity are essential, as well as an ability to work flexibly from home as part of a remote team.

This permanent part time position is for 22.5 hours per week, with the option to work up to 30 hours per week during busy periods. It will suit someone who is genuinely committed to making a difference and who wishes to work in a dynamic environment in a unique and highly regarded organisation. Our preference is for someone based in Sydney.

We are a small but passionate team that is fully committed to providing crisis relief to people who work in music who are doing it tough. If you have what it takes to help us achieve the high expectations we place on ourselves, we would love to hear from you.
