The role

As a result of continued growth of the organisation, a new full-time opportunity is now available for an Indigenous Business Officer to join our Perth team in late February / early March 2022.

Working within the Indigenous Business team, the Indigenous Business Officer’s overall objective is to ensure that our Indigenous Business verification program maintains the highest standard of integrity and authenticity and that Indigenous businesses needs and enquiries are actioned where required.

This role will suit a strong communicator who is process focused with a keen eye for detail.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Indigenous Business the successful candidate will assess and verify applications for registration on Indigenous Business Direct as well as conduct annual and random audits of existing Supply Nation registered Indigenous businesses on Indigenous Business Direct.

The Indigenous Business Officer will also be responsible for responding to enquiries regarding registration applications, supporting suppliers with creation and maintenance of database profiles and working collaboratively with the Indigenous Business team as required on conducting application site visits, interviews, and reporting.

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of small to medium business enterprises and business structures
• An investigative mind that does not take information at face value and critically assesses information against a set standard
• High level communication, analytical and liaison skills; in particular skills relevant to working with Indigenous communities and other key stakeholders

Demonstrated understanding of the Indigenous business sector, and previous experience working on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander issues/projects will be highly regarded.
