What's the role about?

We are looking for an organised and motivated supervisor to join our organisation to guide and provide support to clients to succeed in their job while meeting their goals and outcomes related with employment. This role is based in our Supported Employment function within Unisson Works.

This role will work alongside the Work Supervisor Unisson Works to identify opportunities for supported employees to develop both specific and generic work skills that support the commercial arm of the Employment Services.

This role will work alongside each supported employee to understand their employment and personal goals. Identify strategies to achieve these goals, as detailed in their Service Agreement.

You will require a strong background working in a similar role and be able to add value with your exceptional support skills.

Some role specific responsibilities include;

  • Identify and provide the support each supported employee require at work (including health related support, on the job coaching etc); document and communicate this to the employment facilitator.
  • Liaise with other professionals to develop support plans as necessary i.e. behaviour support clinicians, travel training agencies. Ensure each person plans are implemented, reviewed and kept up to date in the person electronic file.
  • Review goals and progress toward goals for each supported employee.
  • Develop training and support (including gigs, assistive technology and training resources) to facilitate successful participation in as many work tasks as possible.
  • Work alongside the Work Supervisor to monitor the support provided to each supported employee, advocating for change, as necessary.
  • Liaise with the Practice Leaders to identify staff training requirements to enhance the person-centred support provided to each supported employee. This may include training for specific health support (such as epilepsy, swallowing and nutrition) values-based training, identification of restrictive practices etc.
  • Manage the wage assessment & review process for supported employees.
  • Work with Service Engagement Team to maintain up to date Service Agreements for clients.
  • Supervise invoicing for NDIS support and monitor client budgets.
  • Mange enquires from supported employees in consultation with the Work Supervisor
  • Provide guidance to Employment facilitators in relation to supported employee support.
  • Develop effective working relationships with families and the support networks of the clients.
  • Supervise and respond to all incidents and injuries in accordance with Unisson's procedure and practices.
  • Support Work Supervisor with Supported Employee recruitment and assessing their training needs.

Ideal Candidate (Key Criteria):

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the disability sector.
  • Preferred Experience in a Social Enterprise.
  • Sound understanding of the complex needs of people with disabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Outstanding planning and organising skills demonstrating initiative when working without direct supervision.
  • Emotional intelligence, resilience and capacity to perform the work required.
  • An understanding of an adherence to working within personal and professional boundaries in a multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to the values, vision and mission of the organisation including leadership and implementation.
