About You

You’re a qualified accountant and an experienced financial manager with a proven track record of managing 2 the finances of a dynamic and fast-moving organisation. You’re a strategic thinker and are excited about designing and continually improving financial mgmt. systems to make sure that decision makers at all levels of the organisation have the financial information they need to plan and implement with confidence.

While you’re great on the financial detail, you’re also a structured thinker and a great communicator who can convey complex financial information in simple ways. You may have worked as a financial manager in an NGO before, or maybe you’ve worked exclusively in the private sector. Either way, you’re passionate about putting your first-rate financial management skills to use to help solve the climate crisis.

About The Role

The Finance Director is an exciting new role with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of financial management of The Sunrise Project across multiple legal entities in Australia, the US and Europe. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in each geography and reporting to the Global COO, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting systems are efficient, effective, and continually adapt to changing needs of a rapidly growing global organisation. You’ll be responsible for managing our external accounting contractors in different geographies and integrating our accounts so that the board and senior managers have an accurate and clear view of our financial position at all times.
