Compliance Manager

Sunnyfield is a large not-for-profit organisation with a Person Centred approach to providing services to people with disability.

We are looking for a Compliance Manager who will be part of Sunnyfield's Corporate Risk and Compliance Team supporting the implementation of Sunnyfield's Compliance Framework.

The role works closely with business units supporting compliance obligation management. Coaching and mentoring of business owners in how best to implement controls managing compliance risks as well as provision of insightful reporting are key components of this role.

About the role:

  • Compliance plan construct and management including working with external legal advisors to compile an end to end enterprise level compliance obligation library
  • Development of procedures or guides including working closely with frontline staff to improve the compliance management policy framework
  • Coaching and mentoring business risk owners to better understand compliance management principles and approaches
  • Report writing and thematic analysis as well as deep dive analysis of compliance risks
  • Control monitoring and testing support to control owners
  • Supporting and championing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Risk Forum, Board Committee and Board support
  • Supporting and providing advice to the GM Corporate to continually improve compliance management practices and record keeping including supporting the launch of a new Governance, Risk and Compliance Platform

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience as a Compliance Manager or Officer including writing compliance plans
  • Regulatory compliance management including control identification & definition
  • Good understanding of NDIS regulatory framework
  • Strong understanding of privacy Act, Corporations Act, WHS Act
  • Proven ability to interpret regulatory obligations and provide these to business users
  • Technical and negotiation skills
  • Business acumen (ie. to evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, report writing and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, open minded and open to learning
