About us

The Summer Foundation’s aim is to resolve the issue of younger people living in Nursing Homes. Our Mission is to create, lead and demonstrate long-term sustainable change that stops young people from being forced to live in nursing homes because there is nowhere else for them.

The Housing Matching Team - a group of dynamic and passionate people - was created to drive two distinct streams of work - (www.thehousinghub.org.au) and the Tenancy Matching Service, which aim to assist people with disability to see the possibilities for a home for themself and have options to choose from and find the home that is right for them.

About the role

We have now created a new team to drive a very exciting program of work and we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic professional who thrives in a busy environment, to design and deliver high impact resources for people with disability and stakeholders. The Housing Options Facilitator will also undertake regular facilitation of workshops across Australia.

This person will be confident, committed and driven and must enjoy and be confident to deliver workshops both online and in person. Speaking publicly must be second nature, as will the expertise in designing resources and working with people with complex disabilities. We are a dynamic team and we need more dynamic and creative team members to join us to deliver this amazing program.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will definitely not be limited to:

Housing Resources

  • Development of a project plan for the design of a series of resources
  • Undertaking co-design of resources with people with lived experience of disability and housing search
  • Development of resources
  • Turn resources into digital tools

Workshops

  • Contribute to the development of workshops
  • Facilitate online and in person workshops across Australia - at least one per week

SDA Phone Support Line

  • Contribute to the running of the phone support line

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Allied Health or other relevant field
  • Employment subject to National Police History Check

Existing Skills and Experience

  • Over 5 years of solid work experience in content development
  • Proven experience of creating content that inspires action in the target group in a social impact context
  • Design and Development of resources
  • Experience communicating with people with complex support needs
  • Understanding of the disability sector, barriers, players
  • Experience in managing project deliverables
  • Lived experience of disability and housing search
  • Evaluation and reporting
  • Video storytelling production
  • Marketing strategy
  • Organised - meets deadlines and has strong accountability
  • Strong communication verbally and written to audiences internally and externally and for various levels of experience and knowledge
  • Great passion for working with people with disability and championing their voice
