  • Salary: $85k to $90k per annum (depending on experience) plus superannuation and access to salary sacrificing

  • Reports To: Dr Di Winkler, CEO
  • Works With: Research Unit

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support the Chief Investigator to manage a national multi-site research project in adherence with the research protocol and appropriate regulatory and ethical guidelines
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with off-site investigators and key stakeholders
  • Act as the point of contact for stakeholders and off-site research assistants to manage ongoing project expectations and timelines, and provide support for participant recruitment and data collection
  • Maintain and update essential study documents and tools including, but not limited to: Study Protocol, Data Dictionary, Participant Information Sheets and Informed Consent Forms, Interview Guidelines and the online database
  • Prepare essential documents for ethics amendments in liaison with the study investigators and the relevant Human Research Ethics Committee
  • Monitor and review data collection from all research interviewers across multiple sites
  • Data management tasks including: data entry and cleaning
  • Coordinate the set-up of participating sites including, but not limited to: site identification, obtaining ethics approvals, inducting and training research interviewers, and initiating participant recruitment
  • Develop and manage tools to monitor study progress across participating sites
  • Prepare and deliver project updates for ethics committee, external stakeholders and internal project teams
  • Interview people with disability and complex needs and close others
  • Liaise with internal Policy and Practice teams and provide regular updates on study progress
  • Provide administrative support to the Research team as required
  • Attend project meetings and/or research symposiums, as necessary
  • Assist with other research projects, such as literature reviews, as directed by the CEO
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the classification and scope of the position

Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a university degree in an area of allied health or health. Qualifications in a range of disciplines will be considered (e.g., clinical psychology, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology)

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with ethics and research governance submissions, and liaising with ethics committees and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in collection, analysis and reporting of research data
  • Proven ability to work independently and part of a team, adhering to tight deadlines, working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders of varying levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
  • Strong organisational skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail
  • Confident and competent user of technology
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite especially Word and Excel

Desirable Experience & Skills:

  • Experience working within the disability sector, preferably on research projects
  • Experience working with people with neurotrauma or people who have mental health issues, substance abuse and/or behaviours of concerns (e.g. prone to verbal or physical aggression)
  • Previous experience in the management of research data

Additional requirements:

  • Hold, or be willing to undertake and pass, a Victorian Working With Children Check
  • Employment subject to National Police History Check
