About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and driven professional who is willing to put sustained efforts and eternal energy into completing external promotion of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) opportunities in order to identify people with disability who are SDA eligible in South Australia.. The right candidate will enjoy working within a high performing group, put team success before individual, be resilient and vigorous in their effort! This is not easy work, but highly rewarding and knowing that you are making a difference ensures job satisfaction.

Strong and sustained engagement with the whole disability sector is key in this role. The right person will need to enjoy facilitating workshops and undertaking community promotion. Other key tasks such as making proactive phone calls to other Disability Sector professionals, attending webinars, doing presentations and running meetings will be ongoing. The team builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders in the disability and housing sector and engages with people living with disability who have complex needs to promote the opportunity of independent living.

The daily use of our database will also need to become second nature as we have a high level of responsibility to both of our clients - the people living with disability and the SDA providers we work with. Our data is important as it helps inform the whole sector - working within this database is a priority.

Most importantly, you are passionate about supporting people with disability to find the home that is just right. You value lived experience and look to this to inform your work. The ability to be organised, manage multiple stakeholders and communications at once and work at a high energy level is important. If you want to work in the disability sector but at a commercial sector pace - and get the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of many people with disability - then this is the role for you.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivery of Engagement Strategies including facilitation of workshops and community promotion (specific to particular SDA builds as well as the ongoing promotion of the Housing Hub website).

  • Undertaking different forms of outbound engagement including phone calls, webinars, presentations, meetings and other as required.

  • Engagement of people with disability who have complex needs and their informal and formal support networks, to promote the opportunity of independent living at new SDA builds and to link them to the application team.

  • Documentation of all interactions with stakeholders, applicants and customers through the Housing Hub team’s CRM.

This role offers great flexibility to work from home, as many of our services are provided online. We have staff working right across the country and continue to prioritise the safety of our staff and clients during these difficult times.

Qualifications

  • Allied health or disability relevant qualifications and/or relevant experience (desirable).

Skills & experience
