Community Engagement Coordinator - Housing Matching Team

Our Mission is to create, lead and demonstrate long-term sustainable change that stops people with a disability from being forced to live in nursing homes because there is nowhere else for them.

The Housing Matching Team works nationally with Specialist Disability Accommodation Providers and people living with disability to allow these people to live independently, often for the first time.

We are working on many projects with some amazing SDA Providers and we have the opportunity to hire an Engagement Expert to join our team! This exciting role, in a rapidly moving start up, will drive and lead our NSW Engagement Initiatives and be our primary representative at Community Engagements, Presentations, Information Sessions, Forums and Conferences. The Community Engagement Coordinator will work with people with disability, their families, supporters and professionals in the sector to connect them with newly built housing. This will be an extremely busy role - which will require extensive travel around NSW and sometimes interstate.

Your responsibilities:

  • Developing an engagement plan to identify potential SDA tenants across Sydney and conversion to applicants for SDA Properties
  • Execute Engagement Plan by undertaking engagement activities yourself and with TMS Project Coordinators
  • Develop Collateral to execute the Engagement Plan
  • Pass qualified leads to TMS Project Coordinators
  • Cultivate strong individual relationships with key stakeholders in the disability and health services sectors
  • Recording of engagement activities, outcomes and regular reporting on effectiveness of plan
  • Collect information about market need and community demand

Skills & Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, advertising, public relations, business or similar
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales/and or engagement roles
  • Outbound sales experience
  • Development and implementation of Community Engagement Programs in the Sydney Market
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of the NDIS, SDA housing environment (desirable)
  • Employment subject to National Police History Check
  • Full Driving Licence
