The Summer Foundation’s aim is to resolve the issue of younger people living in Nursing Homes. Our Mission is to create, lead and demonstrate long-term sustainable change that stops young people from being forced to live in nursing homes because there is nowhere else for them.

The Housing Matching Team - a group of dynamic and passionate people - was created to drive two distinct streams of work - (www.thehousinghub.org.au) and the Tenancy Matching Service which aim to assist people with disability to see the possibilities for a home for themself and have options to choose from and find the home that is right for them.

We are now creating a new and exciting team to deliver a new program of work and we need an exceptional campaign facilitator to join us. Where we live, who we live with and the support to live the life we want are very important to everyone. The Housing Options Team will be focused on introducing people with disability and their family to ILO (Individualised Living Options) - to run campaigns and undertake online and in-person presentations across the country to build awareness. The successful applicant will need to be confident to speak publicly and have strong communication and organisational skills.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will definitely not be limited to:

Individualised Living Options

  • Development of a project plan for the design of a campaign to raise awareness of Individualised Living Options as an option
  • Undertaking co-design of a proposed campaign with people with lived experience of disability and housing search
  • Identify innovative examples of Independent Living Options to create digital stories to share across the Housing Hub website
  • Develop resources and tools that can support people on their housing journey

Workshops

  • Contribute to the development of workshops
  • Facilitate online and in-person workshops across Australia

Resources

  • Contribute to the development of resources
  • Contribute to providing support of the phone support line

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing/Communications, Allied Health or other relevant field
  • Employment subject to National Police History Check

Existing Skills and Experience

  • Over 5 years of solid work experience in content development
  • Proven experience of creating content that inspires action in the target group in a social impact context
  • Experience communicating with people with complex support needs
  • Understanding of the disability sector, barriers, players
  • Experience in managing project deliverables
  • Lived experience of disability and housing search
  • Video storytelling production
  • Design and Development of resources
  • Organised - meets deadlines and has strong accountability
  • Strong communication verbally and written to audiences internally and externally and for various levels of experience and knowledge
  • Great passion for working with people with disability and championing their voice
