  • SCHCADS Award, Level 4, hourly rates range from $36.62 to $39,52 depending on qualifications and experience

The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has been assisting people experiencing disadvantage in NSW for more than 130 years. Our people reach out to the most vulnerable in our community through our Conferences, Special Works and Vinnies shops. The No Interest Loans (NILs) Program

The Vinnies No Interest Loans program provide small loans to low income earners without fees charges or interest payments, allowing people to purchase essential goods and services.

The Role

The No Interest Loans Client Support Officer will assist individuals and families seeking to apply for a NIL; as well as support the team in relation to recruitment of members and volunteers and promotion of the NILs program.

The NILs Client Support Officer will:

  • Respond to enquiries in a timely manner
  • Send out loan application packs as requested
  • Conduct loan interviews in accordance with approved policies and procedures
  • Expand the reach of the NILs program through collaboration and networking with internal stakeholders as well as external local service providers
  • Support the recruitment and training of volunteers who can assist in providing client support

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years customer service experience in banking or finance related role
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret financial data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient communicator and listener
  • Excellent relationship building skills - able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated understanding of the credit needs of people on low incomes, and a commitment to promoting financial inclusion
  • Demonstrated experience working with volunteers - recruitment, training and co-ordination
  • Willing to undergo a Working with Children and National Police Check
  • Aligned to the ethos and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society
  • Class C drivers licence
