The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has been assisting people experiencing disadvantage in NSW for more than 130 years. Our people reach out to the most vulnerable in our community through our Conferences, Special Works and Vinnies shops. Directorate overview

This position is in the Regional Operations team that is responsible for local implementation of conference engagement; member engagement; volunteer engagement; WE CARE process; regional leadership; community engagement; community needs analysis, and enabling functions coordination.

The Role

This is a key role and will effectively support the work of Conferences by working closely with the Regional Council and Conference Presidents within the region, implementing state-wide membership programs and initiatives. With a real aim to engage members, volunteers and other members of the local community in the implementation of the Society's social justice and advocacy initiatives.

Your role will involve:

  • Effectively supporting the work of Conferences by working closely with the Regional Director and the Central Council President, Regional Presidents and Conference Presidents.
  • Identifying, establishing, and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure effective engagement.
  • Supporting local problem solving and cohesion between members and volunteers, area coordinators, business partners, service delivery staff, and enabling functions staff to support 'One Society'.
  • Promoting and participating in the implementation of the Society's social justice and advocacy initiatives, actively engaging with the local community and members as appropriate.
  • Implementing attraction, retention and engagement initiatives and programs for the Metropolitan region aligned with the state wide membership engagement strategy.
  • Undertaking community needs analysis to ensure a deep understanding of the current and future needs of the people we serve.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s in human resources, human services or related area.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing engagement strategies for member-based organisations.
  • Sound stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyse data and analytics to enable effective reporting on membership programs.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills across a range of mediums - particularly with online support and facilitation training.
