The Role

The Employment Relations Regional Partner -Metro is in the People and Culture directorate. The role will provide guidance, support, and make recommendations to resolve employee relation concerns and build the capability of people managers to support overall positive workforce engagement within the assigned region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Offer support in accordance with the Society's grievance management framework and procedure.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolutions of complaints and people issues are compliant with legislation.
  • Build team leaders and people managers capability for effective leadership, recruitment and to resolve employee related concerns.
  • Report areas for improvement to senior stakeholders in relation to people-related policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to policy development and procedure improvement in the area of employment relations.
  • Identify and take a lead in regional initiatives that will improve employee relations and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively with People & Culture colleagues and teams.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice in workplace legislation and policy, and the Federal Industrial Relations system.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing industrial relations advice and the ability to adapt communication delivery to various audiences.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills across a range of mediums/approaches.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability and expertise in project leadership to oversee effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
