St Vincent de Paul Society run five Education Programs across Victoria. The West Warrnambool Education Program operates as a reading club that supports children from families experiencing disadvantage to grow social, emotional and academic confidence. The Society’s Education Programs provide important guidance and educational support and foster a sense of community and fun.
The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, operation, delivery and reporting of the West Warrnambool Education Program. They will lead the weekly education program. They will telephone interview, induct and support volunteers; enrol students; develop resources; and support the sustainability and growth of the program. They will report to the Education Program Team Leader and participate in scheduled professional development sessions across the Victorian school holidays.
The role will commence by coordinating one Education Program (West Warrnambool), however, we are exploring expansion opportunities and are seeking a candidate who will be able to increase their hours to oversee a second program nearby, later in the year.
As an Education Program Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring the program operates with excellence one day a week during the Victorian school term. You will enjoy working within a framework of continuous quality improvement and reflective practice. You will have a growth mindset and always be open to new and innovative practices based on sound educational principles. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to meet and exceed individual student learning needs and you will provide evidence of your experience working with young people in an educational context. You will bring a proactive supportive approach and be a leader who thrives on creating an engaging learning experience for students and volunteers alike. Qualified teachers currently working as a CRT or returning to the education sector or retired principals are encouraged to apply.
This role is led by one Coordinator, you! This means this role requires responsibility and high levels of autonomy. You will be supported by a network of volunteers in Warrnambool who are there to guide you in the beginning and to assist in running the program. It’s important to know that the Education Program Team Leader and the other four program coordinators are based in Melbourne. They will keep in regular contact with you via email and a weekly team meeting using Microsoft Teams.
