The Role

A rare opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Area Support Manager at Vinnies Victoria. The Area Support Manager is responsible for driving and supporting high performance by providing advice, support and specialist expertise to shops, Shop Managers and Shop Management Teams. This is a key role in the organisation and is accountable for the continued success of Vinnies Retail across the Eastern region. The Area Support Manager will lead a dynamic team to maintain and grow vital retail operations and actively seek out development opportunities in the area.

Your excellent leadership skills and experience of managing teams in the Retail sector, will see you coaching and developing a highly skilled, passionate and motivated team. Known for your fantastic communication style, you will quickly build meaningful relationships across the retail teams and the wider organisation.

You pride yourself on your strong customer service orientation and your passion for retail. You are a resilient leader who knows how to influence others and love watching others succeed under your guidance and mentorship.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Support multiple shop teams in operations, resourcing and recruitment
  • Train, inspire and recruit our dedicated team of staff and volunteers
  • Identify and utilise opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and promote a safe, healthy and positive culture within the shops
  • Drive high performance

Knowledge / Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of retail management, sales and merchandising
  • Experience in leading, training, developing and motivating people to develop high performing, engaged teams
  • Experience in planning, prioritising and organising work, both on an individual and team basis, within a set timetable and in an environment of change and conflicting demands
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining effective working relationships
  • Experience leading and engaging people to achieve objectives
  • Experience coaching and developing managers
