Role Overview: 

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality evidence-based clinical care as a member of the multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for children aged 5-11 years with, or at risk of, complex/severe mental health conditions, and their families and carers.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments of children and families presenting to the service, using the Stride Kids assessment tool 
  • Relate to children and families in a manner which is relevant and appropriate to their developmental and cognitive level of functioning and provide services in a professional and friendly manner
  • Conduct risk assessments, including suicide risk, violence/aggression and vulnerability
  • Liaise with and develop collaborative working relations with key service providers 
  • Facilitate and monitor the integration and coordination of care of Stride Kids clients, including participating in case review meetings 

Requirements:

  • Must have one of the following: General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or OR AASW eligibility/registration as a Social Worker
  • Must have experience working with children and families in a case management/care coordination capacity.
  • Ideally experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention and treatment planning
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) 
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a C class motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
