St Patrick’s Community Support Centre is partnering with City of Fremantle to embed a Community Support worker in the Fremantle Library to be a community connector to engage with and provide support to anyone visiting the library who is experiencing homelessness, hardship or other disadvantage.

The role will involve:

  • Support and referral for vulnerable members of the community accessing the library
  • Support and training to library staff to gain a deeper understanding of homelessness and disadvantage
  • Through the Public Library, help to raise awareness in the community around hardship

If you can work with a high level of autonomy, initiative and accountability and have ability to work with a diverse range of clients, this is the role for you.

The position is initially funded for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Relevant qualification and previous experience in community development and case management support will be highly regarded. Current WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s License also required. Persons of Aboriginal or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
