As a Community Development Officer you will drive the Annual Community Grants Program including its ongoing review to ensure continuous improvement and relevance.

General tasks will include the administration of the program, accurate records management, monitoring grant applications and approvals and working with internal council stakeholders with their approach to grants. Additionally, a large focus for this position will be working with external community groups to engage, educate and ensure the ongoing sustainability of the groups. This will include holding briefing sessions, events and the development of information and promotional materials.

This position is permanent full time with a salary of $73,745 to $84,735 per annum + 10% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off arrangement. This position is a hybrid arrangement of working from home and working from the historic Malvern Town Hall, with flexibility for the pattern. Consideration may be given to part time arrangements of 30 or more hours per week.

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Experience providing advice on grant programs
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly in report writing
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to built meaningful relationships
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Experience in a similar role
