About the business

St Kilda Mums, Geelong Mums & Eureka Mums (Ballarat) - 'St Kilda Mums Inc'. Our vision is to waste less, share more and care for every baby and child.

We are a volunteer-powered organisation with a small paid team. Our mission is to rehome pre-loved nursery goods to support Victorian families in need while saving the earth's precious resources.

St Kilda Mums, Geelong Mums and Eureka Mums (St Kilda Mums Inc) collect, sort and redistribute essential nursery equipment, clothing, books and toys for babies and school age children in response to orders from a statewide network of social workers and Maternal & Child Health Nurses.

Established in 2009, we have quickly grown to be one of Victoria's most well-loved and trusted charities. We help over 20,000 babies and children each year and we are fortunate to have an incredibly supportive and proactive volunteer and supporter base.

We are an organisation born in the digital age. We believe in using technology to work in the most effective way possible, creating huge impact for the babies, children and families we help.

We are innovative, nimble and supportive. If you relish the idea of working in a fast-paced, collaborative and super-impactful team, we may be just what you're looking for!

About the role

Philanthropy Manager - Grants & Bequests

This newly designed role is an exciting opportunity to join the small, dynamic and highly successful Fundraising & Communications Team at St Kilda Mums Inc. We are an innovative, nimble, tech-savvy, fast-paced and much-loved organisation, and we look forward to providing the right candidate with an amazing opportunity to make their mark and change the lives of families in need.

The Philanthropy Manager will play a critical role in the organisation's income generation, essential for the significant growth we need to help more than 20,000 babies and children each year. Our dream is to reach every one of the 198,600 babies and children living in poverty in Victoria with our service.

The income generated by this role will make the single largest contribution to the Organisation's fundraising revenue. This is your opportunity to develop, manage and grow philanthropic and bequest income for St Kilda Mums Inc and ensure our income targets are achieved through the development of the:

  • Grants Program (including all grant writing, reporting and relationship management)
  • Bequests Program (note that experience in managing a bequest program is desirable, but NOT essential; the incumbent will be supported to roll out the strategy, providing them with the opportunity to truly shape and spearhead the first St Kilda Mums Inc. Gifts in Wills Program)

Working closely with the Partnerships Manager, and reporting into the Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will develop and execute a broad range of fundraising initiatives, which will raise the profile and fundraising revenue of St Kilda Mums Inc.

The Philanthropy Manager will be based at our office in Clayton, with an option to work from home if necessary, and will visit our Geelong Mums and Eureka Mums (Ballarat) branches from time to time.

If you are driven by achieving financial targets, creating high-quality grant applications and funding proposals, and growing incredible relationships with philanthropic supporters, then we want to hear from you!
