About the Opportunity

Our People and Culture team is growing, as we are looking to appoint a People and Culture Officer, based at our state office in Mount Waverley. We are searching for a dynamic, energetic and highly organised people and culture professional who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to internal customer service.

This is an amazing opportunity for a dedicated individual to further develop your existing skills base, whilst gaining exposure to the fast-paced people support environment at St John. The potential growth plans for St John will only mean potential increased career progression and development for the future.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating new starter and employee change documentation
  • Onboarding new employees
  • Supporting talent acquisition activities, including phone screening, reference checks and supporting coordination of volume recruitment assessment centres
  • Supporting the People and Culture team with various activities and projects related to all things people and culture
  • Managing HRM systems and databases

About You

This is the perfect opportunity for a HR professional who thrives on coordinating multiple tasks with high attention to detail, while also taking pride in providing the best service possible in every interaction with our people, managers and new employees as they begin their journey with the organisation.

Experience within a similar fast-paced environment is essential, with previous experience supporting large-scale recruitment projects (e.g. phone interviews, reference checks, paperwork/documentation) or scheduling / rostering skills being highly advantageous.

Essential Skills and Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
  • Able to follow processes to ensure work is completed efficiently, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills and excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resilient with the ability to regularly adapt to changing organisational and team needs
  • Understands and is committed to confidentiality and discretion
  • Inquisitive and willing to learn
  • Demonstrates sound computer literacy across the range of Microsoft Office Suite; including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
