About the Opportunity

The role of Business Partner – IR and Performance reports to the General Manager People and Culture and will support the wider business with Industrial Relations, Award, contract and performance management advice. The role is focussed on supporting our commitment to creating a safe place for all team members to thrive and prosper. You will provide advice and council to leaders within the organisation, respond to employee queries, drive the performance review and management program across the organisation, share technical knowledge and act as a trusted advisor. Driving policy development to reflect business needs and changes, building internal capacity for conflict and grievance resolution and coaching leaders in performance related matters to improve performance, will be all in a day’s work for the successful candidate.

About You

Our People and Culture team works in true partnership with the business and has a strong customer centricity approach. This role is best suited to a strong HR Business Partner focussed on building trust and relationships, who seeks to partner with key stakeholders and brings their essential previous experience to support the business in achieving our organisational objectives and strategic plans.

Note: Experience working in the health sector and working with salary packaging (PBI) as it relates to not-for-profits would be highly regarded but not essential.

Essential Skills and Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Experience in human resource generalist position.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of Australian and Victorian employment legislation and standards.
  • Case management and investigation experience.
  • Coaching and performance management experience.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organisation.
  • Understanding of Awards and enterprise bargaining agreements and their application to a service based organisation.
  • Proven track record of trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Experience liaising and engaging with Unions.
  • Emotional intelligence to support and deal with a range of employee and volunteer related matters.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft office skills (in particular Excel) and a good head for figures.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or employment law.
  • Willingness to undertake a current Police check and Working with Children Check
